Oscar's Dabblings

Hello, you are welcome with open arms.

This is for people who have a small growing area.  It helps you make your small area feel as big as Mount Everest! I help you create a relaxing area, vegetable patch, flowers and a mini greenhouse.

This morning (22.2.2021) I sowed some Rocket (not the one that goes into space), Thyme (not a clock), different types of Salad and Basil seeds.  I didn't put them in the greenhouse straight away.  I got some little mushroom containers, filled them with some soil, put the seeds in and watered them. Next I put a transparent lid on each container to keep the moisture in.  Finally I put the containers inside the house, on a windowsill to keep them warm until they germinate.  I'm only 9!!

1.3.2021 GERMINATION

I put my Rocket, Thyme, Salad & Basil seedlings into my little greenhouse*1.  Next I will be transplanting on 7.3.2021.  I will be using something called a dibber*2 to transplant my seedlings into small pots.  I will be keeping them in my greenhouse until they're big and strong like my dad.  In my next post I will be sowing some more seeds - mint, rosemary and carrots.

*1 I've bought a mini greenhouse from wilko that is 50cm wide, 130cm high and 37cm deep for only £15 but we don't know if they still sell it.

*2 A dibber is a pointed stick.  My mum decided to whittle one for a bit of fun and to reuse a stick instead of buy new.

Get a twiggle on (that's the garden pun for the day). Please actually get a twiggle on, you only have 24 hours in each day.

28.3.2021 WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO

I've sown some flowers and we transplanted some thyme.  For mother's day my mum got a brand new dibber.  I'm sorry that I haven't posted for a while, I've been pretty busy trying to earn money to buy my own PC.

The garden pun for the day is: my puns are pumpkintastic. P.S. I'll be sowing pumpkin seeds in April.

  5. Oscar speaking: I'm the one who puts these replies. I'm just on my mum's account because I'm too young to have my own account.
